Children's Bedtime reading

Most of us know that old school nursery rhymes are quite morbid if analyzed, take a look...

So I've tried to purchase books that are inspiring, educational and fun to read.  We still have a small library as we visit the big library often.

When we recently visited Auntie Lil & Uncle George in Edmonton, Mason was a lucky boy and received gifts!  One of which was a new book!

365 Stories and Rhymes for Boys

A lovely hard covered book that I thought would be great for bed time reading and with so many stories, I wouldn't need new books forever!

So Mason and I are playing in his room and I thought I'd crack open the book and start reading.

Let's start at the first story!  Shadow's Lucky Charm....Ooh looks ghoulish, for Hallowe'en.  So I skipped it.

Next...

Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum!  Yes! I know this one...

Fee, Fi, Fo, fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman....WHAT? Ewww.  NEXT!

The Cow

The friendly cow all red and white.   Ummm what cow is red and white?

Okay enough reading.

Is it just me or is this book ODD?

I flipped through the pages and some of the stories are a little better but after reading about a dead man and a red cow, Mason and I will go do something else fun!
