Pet Expo

I think I saw an ad in the paper about the upcoming Pet Expo and thought it would be a fun event for Mason.

Their website is here.

It was only this weekend so if you want to go, you are too late but you can go next year!  The Expo is also in Calgary.

The ticket prices were slightly confusing as I could have sworn that the online pricing was $7.00 however at the door it was $9.00 for adults and free for under 12.

Today the show opened at 11 at the PNE.  Not one for wanting to pay for parking (the lot across the street was $4.00).  We parked near the baseball field (East Pender & Nootka) as there was free residential parking (no limits).

As we approached the entrance, there was a couple handing out flyers.  Their pup was missing and were spreading the word to ask for help finding him.  Their website is:

www.jettgrrl.com/levi and their FB page is here.   I hope someone sees Levi or is returned to them soon.  You can tell he's missed a lot!

While in line to pay, a lady in front of me turned around and asked if I wanted a free admission pass.  DID I? Yes I did!! So there we go, free entry.

Note - Since this lady saved me $9.00, I will definitely pay it forward and do something nice for someone this coming week!

We were given an prize entry for something, which I put in my bag and forgot about.  Technically I'm not even a pet owner.  Mason has a cat and a dog at his Dad's house but we don't have any pets (nor are we allowed to) here.  So any prize would have just been given away anyhow.  Best to have someone win it that can use it.

The layout of the expo was very much like any other show.  Stuff for sale (nothing to eat! lol) and random pets in booths.  We saw fish, dogs, bunnies,  mice, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, spiders, lizards & turtles.

Watching the puppies play

Waiting for the doggies to come out to show us their tricks!

This puppy had a pink tail! It was hard to catch the action shots as the dogs moved so fast!

Jump!

Pink tail pup again!

This turtle was HUGE!

Here he is out of his tank.

Bunnies!

I'm sure there were lots of freebies and draws but I didn't stop at any booths.  We mostly were there for Mason to check out the animals.  We were there less than an hour.  Would we go again? Probably not, the $9.00 price tag wasn't worth it however pet loving families would probably enjoy it and the tickets would be cheaper if purchased online ($2.00 discount).
