Mason's 2nd birthday

Today is the big day!  Wow!  Mason is at school today and that's where his party is going to take place.  I originally had the party scheduled for just after lunch but Miss Ivy suggested having it in the afternoon.  The kids probably wouldn’t be hungry for dessert and would be ready for bed!

So 3:15pm is when it was scheduled for.  I checked the cupcakes as I had them wrapped in saran wrap and it appears that overnight, the cookies and crackers had gone soft.  I realized this wasn’t such a bad thing for toddlers.  So if you are making similar cupcakes and want crunchy, make sure you decorate last minute.

I headed over early and decided to walk as Mason’s dc is just down the street.  I had my bag full of balloons, kazoos, party hats and the candles and in my other hand, a tray of the cupcakes & banana cookies.  I was praying I wouldn’t trip and smush all the food into the sidewalk.  I did have snow to contend with!  Geez!

I arrived at dc unscathed but upon seeing Mason, he wasn’t a very happy Birthday boy!  Rosy cheeks from just waking up from a 2.5 hr nap.  I gave out hats and kazoos for the kids and danced around trying to get them in the party mood.

Finally I got a smile from my boy!

Once Clayton arrived from work we were all ready for some chocolatey treats!  So we sang a song but as you can see from the video, he refused to blow out his candles too!  Grumpy little bear!

The cupcakes and the cookies were a hit (I know *I* loved them!) some kids ate just the cupcake, others just at the cookies and one little guy ate neither (apparently he doesn’t like sweets! Good job!).  Mason also ate neither.  “It’s my party and I’ll frown if I want to”.

Once the food was eaten and the kids were cleaned up, we had a little fun dancing around and I took pictures.  Mason was surprised with a gift from Ashley which he loved (a stegosaurus) but emotions came out when the kids wanted to play with the toy.

The whole party was maybe an hour and it was time for me to take Mason home.  With the gifts, leftover food (Yes, there were leftover cupcakes and I was okay with that.  YUM!) and Mason’s lunch bag, I had my hands full!  And the snow! It was coming down like crazy.  See the video, if you don’t believe me.  February! Snow!

Mason had to wait until after his Daddy got off work to open the rest of his gifts and had a late bedtime because he was just so excited!

Thanks to everyone who shared Mason's special day, for the birthday wishes & the presents.  We are blessed to have you in our lives Mason!
