Happy Hallowe'en

Anticipation for Hallowe'en was generated more by me than by Mason!  I think it's a fun holiday and an excuse for me to eat copious amounts of candy.

Mason's first Hallowe'en at 8 months old consisted of us buying him a giraffe costume (The Children's Place)

and taking him to the mall to get a free picture at Black's:

The next year was going to be a lot more fun since Mason was a toddler and understood the holiday a bit better.  Daddy picked out his costume - a Panda:

We went around to a  few houses and then drove to North Van to my Aunt's to check out their neighborhood in Deep Cove which had a lot of nicely decorated houses!  Mason seemed to enjoy the surroundings and even squeaked out a few 'thank you's' when given candy.

This year, I found a fabulous costume on Craigslist for only $10! A huge score since it was in excellent condition.

We carved a pumpkin (Spiderpumpkin).  Template courtesy of She Knows.

That's a flashlight inside.  I couldn't figure out where I hid the matches and candles.

I had to get some cuddles in with my Dinosaur!

And off we went...

Even Daddy got dressed up as a 'Shower Man'.  And Yes he had clothes on underneath!  His legs and chest were still bare.  People thought he was insane but his temperature is always warm.  Mason has it too which gives him eczema when he overheats!

This year we stayed in our neighbourhood of North Burnaby and did a loop around a few blocks.  Mason did really well considering he walked almost the whole way and while his 'Trick or Treat' was quite quiet, his manners were quite loud! "Thank you!"  At the first house he even asked 'More candy please'.  LOL.  I exclaimed that I had not taught him that lol.

By the end of our route, I was shocked that Mason's goody bag was full!  A few houses gave him full sized candy bars!  Luckily we had no issues with any candy tampering and only had to throw out one melted candy.  Mason even shared!

And on the topic of candy, Mason isn't a huge fan.  I don't give him candy really at all (mostly because I don't buy it and/or I won't share it).  He's a high energy kid (aka doesn't need extra sugar).  However I may make the exception to bribe him with Smarties to pee on the potty!

All in all, it was a great family day and we had a lot of fun!
