Hidden treasures

Last week Mason and I set up his big boy bed.  Well, *I* set it up and he ran around.  While I would say that the house is sufficiently baby proofed and I am not one of those helicopter parents that watches her child like a hawk.  I allow him freedom to roam around the house, semi un-monitored so he can explore.  My house is extremely tidy and not very cluttered so there isn’t too much he can get into.

So when I was taking apart his crib, naturally I had the tool box open.  I told him he could take a look at the tools but not go anywhere with them.  Running + screwdriver = emergency room visit.  He 'helped' Mommy by sticking the screwdriver in the holes in the toddler bed and then left them and went to play in the hallway.

I had left the laundry room door open (it’s actually a closet with a stacker w/d in it) and where the tool box lives.  Out he comes with a partially empty jug of liquid laundry detergent.  “Whoa, whoa, how bout you give that to Mommy and we’ll clean up?” I tell him.  As I took the jug from him, it appears that the stopper (it’s one of those jugs with the push button spout) had fallen inside.  Oh well, deal with it later.  The jug still had its lid on, so no fear of it leaking and back inside the closet it went.

Well fast forward a week later when it’s time to do my laundry.  I grab the jug and realize that it’s almost empty, so I might as well fish out the stopper and empty it so I can put it in recycling.

It took a while for me to align the stopper and the hole for it to pop out.  Much to my surprise, was not a stopper but a small wrench.  That monkey had taken some of my tools, opened the jug and popped them into the hole! (Guess better this, than flushing them down the toilet).  Once I got the wrench out, I found two smaller screwdrivers.

I have to say, they are very clean and smell like April spring.
