New design - love it or hate it?

I've received quite a few comments from people I don't know (aka strangers) that read my blog on a regular basis - thank you! I think that's really wonderful that my weekly musings are worth reading!

I'd love to know what your thoughts are on the new design!  Please click on the 'Guestbook' tab tha…

Well not exactly...but I'd love to share this bit o' info with you's.  I recently attended the Vancouver Children's Trunk Show on Friday, November 5th with my friend Satri and her Daughter Sienna.  It was featured at the Museum of Vancouver (MOV) which was just a small room in their gall…

Does your kid do this?

Back in the day, okay back in March...anytime Mason would see my naked breast he'd be like 'yum milk!' and try to locate the nipple like a little baby Stevie Wonder.  He did this cute little head wave side to side and his little mouth would be agape.  Success and he'd suck happily and have a drink.…

H1N1 - To Poke or Not to Poke. That IS the question.

And it's a question that has no answer.  I sat on the fence for the last week, reading various articles of the Pandemic in BC and other provinces.  Hearing the heart wrenching comments from parents who had lost their children to this super flu.  I asked Clayton what his thoughts were and he initiall…

Here I grow again!

I realized that I haven't blogged about Mason's developments in a while so here are a bunch of new things for month 7 & 8.

  • Laying on stomach to look under things (like the bed - where the kitty is hiding, under the desk - where a toy rolled)

  • Loves to eat teething biscuits and will occupy him for …

Da da da da da-da train

While eating dinner tonight Mason started whispering something so I listened and sure enough it was 'da da'.  We've been encouraging him to say it more (and louder).  So cute.

What happens when you walk into Zellers to buy a $40 toy?

You walk OUT with $100 worth of toys!

Clayton and are I not really the type of parents that goes crazy and buys Mason tons of toys.  Considering his age, he has very little to play with.  I sold the jumperoo & the piano chair because he had grown out of them.  So I see the Vtech Sit to Stand Lea…

    No more, Mum!

Mason just started saying 'no' by turning his head side to side!  I was feeding him desert and when he was finished he shook his head!  So I figured he was just goofin' around and dI kept feeding him and sure enough 'no no'.

Ha! My kid is so smart :)

In Memory of all the lost little monkeys

I'm sitting in my computer chair, Mason is in my lap and I have tears streaming down my face.  Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day.  I have been fortunate to not have experienced this type of loss and my one and only pregnancy has resulted in my beautiful Son Mason.  I am dedicating th…

    No longer a wittle baby!

I seriously do not know where 7 months went!  I was having a great cuddling session with Mason yesterday and pulled him up onto my chest for a hug, I then flashbacked to when he was just a few days old.  Clayton and I took turns having him sleep on our chest, this little 7lb bundle of joy who fit pe…

    All clear!

Today marks the *first* day Mason has completely been free of eczema, save for the small rough patches on his knees (from crawling).  There are no red angry patches on this kid!  Hooray! Hooray!

    Sleep through the what?

We had a rough go of it last night and by 'we', I mean Monkey and Me.  12:30 is when I went to sleep, 12:30 is when Mason wakes up (went to bed at 9).  I tuck him in, sing a song or two and leave the room.  At 1:30 I hear him grunt (tossing and turning), so I go back into his room, tuck him in, sin…

One of those days or one of MY days

My son is crawling around shirtless (cause it's covered in peas and I haven't got any motivation to put another shirt on him), he has a pair of jeans on and one sock (he took the other one off, no clue where it went).  The living room is slightly messy because I haven't been home much day to clean i…

    Picky eater or refined palate?

The little dude will not eat peas, carrots and anything containing peas and carrots.  What the heck am I supposed to feed him, he's getting bored of squash, cheese, broccoli and cauliflower and sweet potatoes!  What else is there that doesn't contain peas and carrots!?

    And forget about meat, Maso…

    Mason is bored with crawling

So he taught himself how to stand today...

    Mason_Standing

I walked into the living room and stopped dead.  It took a few seconds for my brain to comprehend what he was doing, then I screamed for Clayton to come and see.  I then rushed (right passed him) to get the camera to take a picture.  He's still standi…

    New duds * rum'n'coke

If I have one complaint about being a new Mom it's being in the doldrums and in that blah land is a very sad wardrobe.  Recently I took out all the clothes that I no longer wear out of the closet, it was a pretty big pile.  What I was left with was prepreg tshirts (over stretched from the belly and …

A typical day in my life - by Mason

I kept Mommy up a few times last night.  I typically wake up at 3:30 every morning for fun! I even got a bottle, not sure I was hungry but I drank it.  Heehee.  I then had a bit of a cat nap and woke up when Daddy was ready to get up for work at 6am.  Daddy did the routine stuff, you know...changed…

Mason gives the saying 'spit shine the floors' a whole meaning!

    Mason's first words...sorta

    Baaabaaabaaabaaa!

We are now into double syllables! YAY for Mason.  He's always been a talker but it was more drawn out "aaaaaaaaaaaa" that was very guttural.  Glad to hear some new sounds.  A 'baba' is what we call his bottle and isn't a real surprise since it's the word I probably say the most.…

Well more than 6 months have passed because Mason will be 7 months on the 21st.  7 months is much more closer to a year and wow that will be a HUGE …
