"No more needles!", Mason says

Today was another appointment with Dr. Robinson to administer Mason's 4 month vacinnations (2, 4, 6 and 1 year series of shots).   They combine shots in series so we have to keep going back.  The first session at 2 months were 3 injection sites and 4 vaccines (Hep B, Polio, Pnumoccocal and Meningoccal) and this time it was 2 injection sites and 3 vacinnes which were the same shots as the first session minus the Meningococcal (that's at 6 months).  Yep I've got this all down in my handy BC Childhood Immunication Record.  I've been careful to document all of Mason's medical history!  I figure it's a good thing to have.  Masey also got weighed today and he's up to 13lbs and 25.75 inches long.  (7lb 2oz at birth) so he's almost doubled his weight.  The feeding schedule (breast milk and formula) Clayton and  I have him on seems to be working and Mason is showing weight gain (belly and cheeks!)  I've been on the Domperidone (meds to increase milk production) for a few weeks now and it seems to be working.  I am having a hard time taking the pills on a regular basis (2 pills 4xday) and I need to take the pills 1/2 hr before I eat.  I need to work on this better.  The medicine is actually for stomach issues and it pushes food through your digestive system faster which leaves me with constant tummy aches (would could be from me not taking them when I should!) and always being hungry (bad!).  Hopefully my milk supply will plateau and then I can decrease my intake and then wean myself off of them.  Anyhow enough about me...

Mason's development is still doing really well.  Here are a few new things he's learned:

  • Rolled over from tummy to back again (hasn't done it since though)

  • Enjoys having Mommy & Daddy read books to him.  His attention span is amazing for this age, he doesn't get bored

  • Loves bath time with Daddy (both of them in the tub!) and kicks his legs and waves the arms

  • Is constantly trying to pull himself up when sitting and has lost patience for being in his car seat

  • Prefers to sit on laps opposed to laying down on his back

  • Is now sleeping through the night.  Usually bedtime is 9/10pm and will sleep to 6/5 am respectively

  • Go Back
