Itchy & Scratchy

I wish this wasn't a topic that was continuously featured on my blog but it's taken over our days and nights that I feel like I have to write about it to get some sort of relief (at least for me).  For Mason, it's unfortunately not that simple.  I previously wrote about some of the changes we've made to Mason's schedule, laundry and cremes we've triebut have yet to have the itchies disappear :(

The eczema seems manageable during the day and perhaps that's because Mason is easily distracted with well, everything.  Come bedtime - he'll either sleep from 9 - 1:30am or he'll sleep a few hours between and that's it.  After 1:30 am (sometimes it's sooner) is when Mason is most awake and screams in discomfort.  The new routine consists of turning Masey on his side, giving him a binky and putting a warm blankie (from the dryer) on him.  That might buy 15 mins or the most, 2 hrs of sleep.  We've also been lubing his whole body up in Vaseline, anti-itch cream[Spectro Kids Eczema Care] and his prescription HC cream.  Nothing seems to work for an extended period of time, with the exception of sleeping in Mommy/Daddy's arms.  These special arms apparently are magic and get rid of any itching because Mason will instantly stop fidgeting and go to sleep.  Obviously this isn't an option for the remainder of the night and I'm at a loss on how to relieve Mason's itching and get him back on a sleeping schedule.  Last night I ended up sleeping on the futon (folded up) with monkey right beside me.  We slept a solid 2 hours (4am - 6am) before I realized I was freezing (had no time to grab a blanket) and it was time for Clayton to get up.

I realize that we are going to go through these types of issues and this is pretty minor.  I guess it's hard to accept right now because Mason was sleeping through the night at 4 months.  You can't give me sleep and then take it away!!! lol.
