1st Doctor visit

Clayton, Bumpy & I had our first visit with Dr. Robinson at the clinic today.  Since Clayton and I are playfully arguing over the sex of the little one, it shall now be referred to as 'bumpy' (thanks to Auntie Jess in the UK for the name!).

It was a routine visit, mostly just a chat and a bit of teasing directed at me since the last visit I had with Dr R was me whining about how I probably wouldn't be able to (easily) conceive in the future because of my mangled right ovary.  The irony of that was I was actully pregnant at that visit, I just didn't know it!

So we dicussed how far along I was - 5 weeks and counting!  I am 241 days (35 weeks) before my due date - I hate waiting for presents ;)

Some info on Bumpy:
This week, the baby is about 0.05 inch long. The central nervous system, muscles and bone are in the early stages of developing. Baby is also developing a skeleton.

We also chatted where I plan to give birth - http://www.bcwomens.ca and my prenatal advice - eat healthy, exercise and take my vitamins daily.

Wow, talk about reality hitting hard!  Next appointment is in 3 weeks :)

So aside from that, I'm just dealing with daily nausea (today was really bad and I ended up in bed for most of the day)  I've also been blessed with pre pregnancy pounds that snuck up on me, I eat really healthy so it's a bit of a shock but hopefully I'll start filling out fast in these next two months and then I can actually look 'preggers' and everyone will know.

Another topic right now is baby names and what to call my mom, Laurie.  She hates 'Grandma' cause it sounds old.  My Dad has already decided he wants to be called 'Poppy'  I think that's cute.  I've emailed a list of potential names, we'll see if she likes any of them.  That's a tough name to make up!  Clayton and I (along with my parents) have mulled over names but we haven't had anything that has really stuck.  We haven chosen not to find out the sex of our baby before it's born so it will be a surprise for sure!

Well that's it from me, nothing too new to add but will definately be more in the near future.

Mommy2be,

Jodelene
