13 weeks

Looks like my subject lines are countdowns! Truth be told, I'm not in the mood to come up with some catchy subject line.  I just finished work and had a quickbite to eat.  Not feeling great at the moment, I think I stared at the computer screen too long day.

Although I haven't posted any new belly pics, I can assure you the belly and the baby to be are growing!  Bumpy is now the size of a peach (sooo hard to believe) and I no longer fit any of my pre-preg clothes.   Here is an excerpt of the baby's development:

Your baby’s eyes also start to move closer to the center of your baby’s head. The head can move easily from side to side and up and down, and the facial features are starting to form. Your baby’s arms have almost reached final proportion and length, though the legs are still quite short relative to the baby's body. At 13 weeks pregnant, your baby can now probably flex its arms and kick its legs. He or she may also be able to put a thumb in his or her mouth, although the sucking muscles are not yet completely developed.

The sockets for all twenty teeth are formed in the gums, and vocal cords are beginning to form. Other things happening at this time are the appearance of fingernails, the beginnings of fingerprints and footprints, the start of vocal cord formation, the appearance of visible ribs. The trachea, lungs, stomach, liver, pancreas, and intestines are developing into their final functioning form.'
Reading it kind of puts tears in my eyes, the whole experience is mind boggling and despite my protruding belly I still find myself in disbelief there is a little baby inside of my tummy!

I'm happy to report that I had two nights of zero morning sickness but I'm not crossing my fingers yet!  Even though my first trimester is over...symptoms could linger on for a few more weeks.  I'm hoping not but I don't want to get disappointed if I do get sick regularly.

I don't have much else to report...I'm moving this Friday to Clayton's place in Burnaby.  We are slowly renovating which is exciting but tiring at the same time.  We are both looking forward to the arrival of our parents in early Sept as well.

Well I'm getting awfully sleepy so I'm going to go have a quick cat nap!

Til next week :)
